My work is autobiographical, a form of visual diary-keeping. Often my projects are based on specific landscapes that I interact with. This series of paintings on found cigarette packages began while I was visiting Sofia, Bulgaria, and has continued in other locations I've traveled to since. There are subtle differences to each package, for example, the smoke warning label on the side of each painting is occasionally in a different language based on the location of the painting. I want to acknowledge similarities in this world, making it feel smaller. These paintings are my attempt at doing this, and also function as souvenirs from specific moments of my life.
